We decorate everywhere for Christmas. I mean everywhere. Even the bedrooms!

A few year back, I had purchased a beautiful Christmas quilt as a treat to myself for my birthday. As beautiful as the quilt was, it only came with the quilt and didn’t have any pillows or pillow sham covers that would match.
I had been trying to find a few pillows that would match the quilt and look nice. I had been searching for fun fabrics, but since the quilt was already a little busy, nothing was proving to be the right pattern.
I finally decided to seek out a great plush soft fabric much like I make baby blankets from. Yes, that would be perfect!

One day while wondering through HomeGoods (which I do far too often) I found a great plush throw that had a fun fringe for less than $15. That was less then I would spend on buying fabric and the blanket was just big enough to cover two king size pillows front and back!
If you can sew a straight line – this is something you can do! Trust me!

I folded the blanket in half and cut at the fold. Each half is the perfect size for one pillow.
And added bonus is this great fringed edge! Each half I folded in half again and sewed up the back and long side.

I used about a two inch seam allowance to make it fit the pillow the best. I kept the fringe side open to put the pillow in.
When I placed the pillow in, the cover was a little loose for my taste, so I just sewed it in a little closer. Don’t worry if it doesn’t fit the first time!

I then sewed a some velcro just inside the fringe so I can close the pillow and the fringe hangs nice on the end. This whole thing took me less then an hour and they are so comfy!

This is a great inexpensive way to bring some Christmas feel to any bedroom!
